The morning market in Luang Prabang, Laos🌄 라오스 루앙프라방의 아침시장

Today is our second day in Luang Prabang, and we wanted to see the morning market. Daddy heard that "the morning market is for locals and the night market is for tourists". We thought that the morning market would be less touristy and it would have more traditional everyday sort of things than the night market, which we had already been to.

오늘은 루앙프라방에서의 두번째날이고 우리는 아침시장에 가기를 원했습니다. 아빠가 듣기에 아침시장은 이 지역사람들을 위해 열리고 야시장은 관광객을 위해 열린다고 합니다. 그래서 아침시장은 여행객들이 적고 이미 가 본 야시장보다 좀 더 전통적으로 일상적일거라고 생각했습니다.

Me and the baby corn we bought to eat on the way to the market. The person who sold the corn had a little cook stove to cook the corn on. She gave it to us in bundles of three, with the husks still on them. I think it was steamed.
시장에 가는 길에 먹기 위해 산 아기옥수수와 나. 이 옥수수의 상인은 옥수수를 익히는 작은 스토브를 가지고 있었습니다.  상인은 세 개를 하나로 묶은 뭉치를 주었는데 껍질이 여전히 붙어 있었습니다. 내 생각에는 찐 옥수수였습니다.

Fruit seller: closest to farthest: rambutan, dragon fruit,yellow mangoes.
The fruit seller sold the fruit by the kilogram - about 2 dollars a kilo for many things.
과일 상인: 가까운 곳부터: 람부탄, 용과, 노란 망고. 과일 상인은 킬로그램으로 과일을 팔았습니다. 많은 것들이 킬로당 2달러 정도였습니다.

Sorry I haven't been writing much, but now here's a new post so I hope you're satisfied! 

요즘 블로그를 많이 쓰지 못해 죄송합니다만 여기 새로운 포스트가 있으니 만족하시기 바랍니다.

Today we are going to Laos, a country near Vietnam and Thailand. If you want to know EXACTLY where Laos is, you should try searching for a map on Google. 

오늘 우리는 베트남과 타일랜드의 이웃인 라오스라는 나라로 갑니다. 라오스가 정확히 어디에 있는지 알고 싶으시다면 구글지도에서 찾아보시기 바랍니다. 

     The time we got on the plane:(Korean time) 6:50 pm. The time we'll get off the plane:(Korean time) 1:00 am. Because we arrived so late we stayed one night in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Then the next day we flew to Luang Prabang where we will stay for the rest of the trip.

비행기를 탄 시간: 한국 시간 오후 6:50. 비행기 내린 시간: 한국 시간 새벽 1:00. 너무 늦게 도착했기 때문에 라오스의 수도인 비엔티엥에서 한 밤을 보냈습니다. 그 다음 날에 여정의 나머지 날들을 보낼 루앙프라방으로 비행기를 타고 갔습니다.

     Daddy is going to Laos to help at the newly opened Lao Friends Hospital For Children, and mommy Jina and me are going to Laos to visit for fun. We'll be here for about three weeks, and daddy will be here for a bit longer than a month .

아빠는 새로 생긴 "리오 친구들 어린이 병원"을 도우러 가시고 엄마, 진아와 나는 여행을 갑니다. 우리는 삼주정도 있을 예정이고 아빠는 한달 좀 넘게 계실 예정입니다.

    But now you'll start getting bored, so on to the good stuff. BRING ON THE PICTURES!!!!!!!!

When the clouds cleared enough we could see the beautiful hills,valleys, and forests of the mountain-y area.

구름이 없어졌을 때 아름다운 언덕, 골짜기와 산의 숲을 볼 수 있었습니다.

My sort-of-dinner on the airplane. It consists of:

비행기안에서 먹은 저녁밥 비스끄레한 것은 다음과 같이 구성되어 있습니다.

Sam gahk kim bab, a Korean food made of rice wrapped in seaweed, with other things added inside. Mine is tuna and mayonnaise. 

김으로 밥을 싸고 여러가지를 안에 넣은 삼각김밥. 제 것은 참치와 마요네즈가 들어 있습니다.

A banana (no explanation needed here, I think)

바나나 (제 생각엔 특별한 설명이 필요 없을걸 같습니다)

And some green tea. (And a wet cloth to clean your hands, Korean-style)

그리고 녹차. (그리고 손을 닦기 위한 젖은 휴지, 한국스타일입니다)

✒️The Market (시장)🍱🍣🐡

Today we went to the market. The market's name is kuromon market. It means black gate market because there used to be a temple with a black gate in the spot where they built it. Inside there are a lot of shops and Sushi restaurants. My mom wanted to go eat Sushi at a restaurant she heard about so first we went there.

오늘 시장에 갔는데 시장 이름은 구로몬 시장 (黒門市場) 입니다. 까만 문이 달린 사원이 있던 장소에 시장을 지었기 때문에 구루몬 시장이라는 이름이 붙었다 합니다. 엄마가 들은 적이 있는 수시 레스토랑에 먼저 갔습니다.

Puffer fish

After we ate all the sushi, it was time to explore the market. After awhile, we passed a puffer fish restaurant. My dad told me that puffer fish are poisonous so you need a special license to cook them, and when they're cooked right there's just enough poison to make your tongue tingle.

수시를 다 먹고 시장을 탐방할 시간이었습니다. 얼마 후 복어식당을 지났어요.  아빠가 말씀하시기를 복어는 독성이 있어서 특별한 자격증이 있어야 요리를 할 수 있고, 요리를 잘 했다면 적당한 독성이 남아 혀를 간지럽힌다고 합니다.

This is  the puffer fish tank. Jina wanted the puffer fish to puff up, but the fish didn't think Jina was scary enough. Some of the fish cost almost $300!!!

이것은 복어 탱크입니다. 진아가 복어를 부풀어 오르게 하고 싶어했으나 복어는 진아가 무섭다고 생각하지 않았어요. 어떤 복어는 거의 미화 300불 가까이 했어요!

Hey, this isn't a real puffer fish! And why did it eat my foot?!!!!!!!

이보세요, 이건 진짜 복어가 아니라고요! 그리고 왜 내 발을 먹었죠?!!

✒️Crowded Japan and Glico Man (붐비는 일본과 글리코 맨)🌃

Look how many people came to see the sights and go shopping! Some of them are Japanese, some are from other countries. Maybe some of them came to see this:

얼마나 많은 사람들이 쇼핑을 하고 이 곳을 관광하러 왔는지 보세요! 그 중에는 일본사람들도 있고 다른 나라에서 온 사람들도 있답니다. 아마 어떤 사람들은 이것을 보러 왔는지도 모릅니다:

Glico Man. Mommy said that Glico Man advertises some sort of chips or crackers or snacks, and he got famous some how.

글리코 맨이요. 엄마가 말씀하시기를 글리코 맨은 어떤 과자, 크래커나 스넥을 선전하는 사람인데 어떻게 유명해 졌다고 해요.

This is one of the  the candies that he advertises.

이게 그 사람이 광고하는 사탕 중의 하나입니다.

 Well, now it's getting late so it's time to go to sleep.

밤이 깊어 이제 자야할 시간입니다.

✒️Walking Man Japan (일본의 신호등 사람)🚶

In America, you know exactly what the little figure who tells you when it's safe to cross the street looks like. But did you know that in Japan they have a different signal?

미국에서, 언제가 안전하게 길을 건널 때인지를 알려 주는 작은 인물이 어떻게 생겼는지 압니다. 그러나 일본에서는 다른 신호등이 있다는 걸 아시나요?

In case you can't tell, the person has a tiny hat and a pair of shoes on.

잘 보실 수 없을 경우에, 그 사람은 아주 작은 모자와 한켤레의 신발을 신고 있답니다.

✒️April Fools Post (만우절 포스팅)😉

Hello! Now I'm beginning my travels in a place I've never ever been to before: Japan! I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner, but I needed more time to write this so now you're reading it and I've posted it so now everyone's happy even though it's not April Fools Day. Now for the real stuff.

안녕하세요! 저는 전에 한번도 가보지 못한 곳, 일본으로의 여행을 시작하려 합니다. 이걸 빨리 포스팅하지 못한걸 죄송하게 생각하지만 4월 1일 만우절이 지났지만 이걸 쓰는데 시간이 좀 더 필요했기 때문이므로 이해해 주세요. 본론으로 들어 가겠습니다.

I've posted pictures of food; some of the pictures are of real food, and some are fake food from the display cases in the restaurants to show you what the food will look like when you order it. Try to guess wich is wich! (Japan has some pretty realistic fake food. Just warning you!)

음식사진들을 올립니다; 어떤 사진은 진짜 음식을 찍은 것이고, 어떤 것들은 음식점에서 주문하기 전에 음식이 어떻게 생겼는지를 보여 주기 위해 디스플레이 장식장에 있는 가짜 음식을 찍은 것입니다. 어떤게 어떤것인지 맞춰보세요. (일본은 정말 진짜같은 가짜음식을이 있답니다. 그냥 경고를 드리는 거예요!)

DELICIOUS ICE CREAM!! Left: strawberry, right choco. The cut off part (sorry about the odd trimming) is a yummy sweet drink with whipped cream on top. I had to hurry to take a photo of that whipped cream before it melted.

맛난 아이스크림! 좌: 딸기, 우: 초코. 밑의 잘린부분(이상하게 사진을 잘라 죄송합니다) 은 휘핑크림이 얹어져 있는 맛있는 단 음료입니다. 휘핑크림이 녹기 전에 서둘러 사진을 찍어야 했답니다.

No idea what this meat is... Jina really liked it though. I think they cut the yellow thing on top spiky like that to make it look nice and fancy.

이 고기가 뭔지는 모르겠어요... 그러나 진아가 아주 좋아했어요. 제 생각에는 위에 있는 노란 것은  음식을 더 멋져 보이게 하기 위해 뾰족하게 자른것 같아요.

Soba Noodles, my favorite! Daddy told me that people ate these because white rice doesn't have enough of some types of vitamin B in it so people ate soba noodles. They don't have much flavor when they're plain, so you can dip them in a sauce.

메밀 국수는 제가 제일 좋아하는 것이예요. 아빠가 말씀하시길 사람들이 하얀 쌀밥에 어떤 종류의 비타민 B가 충분하지 않기 때문에 메밀 국수을 먹었다고 합니다. 맛이 특별히 많지 때문에  소스에 찍어 먹을 수 있어요.

My mom said the one on top tastes like egg. I don't know, I didn't try it.

엄마는 위의 것이 달걀 같다고 하셨어요. 저는 먹어 보지 않았기 때문에 모르겠네요.
